What Are the Benefits of being in a Mastermind Group?

Trust me “there are benefits belonging to a mastermind group” because you are surrounding yourself with likeminded individuals who are comfortable being “above average.” A mastermind group will help you become sharper with the tools you already have and show you how to play to win – not just be in the game of life – but the group helps you win with less stress. Others are willing to share what they know with you because you are successful because the group is successful. It kind of like “all for one and one for all.”

You are blessed to make real connections with folks you may not have ever met. In the group you even share your personally challenges and/or successes because the members of the group care for you – they are not trying to use what you bring to the table and then kick you to the curve. The group can actually make you raise the bar for yourself because they can define and debate issues of being successful by telling what they have already discovered “will not work.” So it saves you from going out in the world and making the mistakes the members have warned you about.

The group should challenge you, encourage you, engage you, educate you, excite you, and respect you. If you are thinking about joining a mastermind group – do your homework – find out the why, who, what, where and when of the group. You may have some things in common but not be on the same page as it relates to your entrepreneurial goals. I feel only serious individuals join a mastermind group – you are going to be sacrificing your time, energy and money to participate in the group so why not get ALL you can obtain. The people in mastermind groups are willing to share with you what they have learned, what they feel is acceptable and not acceptable. They will tell you the fears they have to face and give pointers on why you should be your own cheerleader but you don’t have to cheer all by yourself. It’s okay to be doubtful about what you think you can achieve. You will have more power, resources and connections if you are affiliated with the “right” mastermind group.

Finally I would like to close saying this: A career is what you are paid for. A “calling” is what you are made for.

Believe that you are made to be successful and go after that belief with determination and patience. Invest in you – you are worth it!

The Sufficiency of the Savior – The Shepherd. King David was being sought to be killed by his own son (you must read the Bible – Chronicles and Samuel )

KING David realized as we should – that circumstances don’t dictate how good God is are isn’t. God is still Good when LIFE isn’t. When all chaos was breaking out in David’s life he put pen to paper and wrote the 23rd Psalm (one of many while he was in the caves of his chaos). In the midst of being chased by the enemy he didn’t write about his “current circumstance” – he wrote about God’s Position, Provision and Protection – for that is what the 23rd Psalm decrees and declares. Nothing catches God off guard. But will you let the Savior – lead you as YOUR Shepherd? What is LEADING you? Are you letting your title, position, your clothes, your man, your boo, the cruises you’ve been on or ANYTHING other than the SHEPHERD lead you? Oh I use to – so that is why I never give you something to chew on that I have not already digested.

Listen: THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD; I SHALL NOT WANT. HE MAKETH ME TO LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES; HE LEADETH ME BESIDE THE STILL WATERS. HE RESTORETH MY SOUL; HE LEADETH ME IN THE PATHS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR HIS NAME’S SAKE. YEA, THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL FOR THOU ART WITH ME – THEY ROD AND THY STAFF THEY COMFORT ME. THOU PREPAREST A TABLE BEFORE ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MINE ENEMIES: THOU ANOINTEST MY HEAD WITH OIL; MY CUP RUNNETH OVER. SURELY GOODNESS AND MERCY SHALL FOLLOW ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE AND I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER.

For example – I attended the funeral of my friend’s mother on a Friday of one week and her brother spoke at his mother’s funeral and then in less than a week after the mother’s funeral the brother was found dead. How do you stay calm in the middle of chaos? You don’t unless you know the Shepherd and you allow HIM to “lead and direct” you.

The LORD is our Shepherd: If you remember your Bible lessons – this David (who is now King) was the little boy who killed Goliath the Giant. Death is a Giant we all will face in life. But there is purpose even in death. God knew the Position David would one day be in and the Provision and Protection was given David throughout his life – throughout his sins in preparation for that God ordained POSITION. God is doing the same for us!!! We are not doing it on our own! We go through to get through. We get through to be a witness “God’s Word is true.”

Today we get another chance to get it right – to let the Good Shepherd lead us – and direct us. Don’t try to hide what is wrong in your life (like I use to) for the Sufficiency of the Savior – our Shepherd already knows what your fears are – where your anger stems from. Reveal it so HE can heal it.

The Sufficiency of the Savior – The Lord our Shepherd kept David through all those challenges – past – present and future. Like sheep we go astray and need a leader. As Sheep we get restless and nervous anxious and even angry at the Shepherd. Death hurts I get that. I am here today as a witness to all of you! Keep pressing your way every because every second counts. Allow life’s challenges to build you up as you feel worn and weary. For me God had to force me – as one of HIS sheep to stop and rest – lie down in green pastures while others may wonder how you stay calm amidst the storms of your life). Let Jesus lead you…all the way!!!
